Congrats sa SingERGs!! 4th Place sa Awitan 2011(held at Crossroads77 last Dec.12,2011).We did a good job!!
Personally, this is one of the unforgettable moments in my freshie life. Singing with a chorale while battling with the other Eng'g organizations, this must be awesome. See you next year guys!!
You had the wits to pass the UPCAT, the guts to survive the enrollment...but..do you have the heart to face the challenge?

Tips for UPCAT!! :D
Here are some tips for you.
1.)Study hard. When I took the UPCAT, some Physics problems like momentum, force, vectors, and Math problems like Fundamental Counting Principle, some Trigo problems etc. came out. Don't study the day before your exam. It's not a good habit by the way. You may search for sample problems and review materials but don't rely too much in it. Gather your old notes and books. :D
2.)Weeks before the exam, you should know where is your testing site. Hindi 'yong sa mismong araw kayo maghahanap( "Asan ang NIGS?", "Where is this CBA?"). Visit the building maybe a week before your exam shedule.
Note:If ever you asked someone in UP, "Kuuyaa., saan po ung..?" at ang sinagot sa 'yo ay, "Doon, lakarin niyo na lang, malapit lang yan."alamin niyo muna sa sarili niyo kung kaya niyong maglakad ng isang kilometro, then go! Eh kayo?
3.)On the day of the exam, don't forget to bring your TEST PERMIT, MONGOL#2 PENCILS, FAN/JACKET,UMBRELLA AND SNACKS.Of course 'di kayo papayagang magtest ng walang TEST PERMIT. ID is for identification. MONGOL#2 PENCILS 'wag kayong makulit!! Iyan lang ang ireread ng machine!Bring erasers and sharpener na rin. Extreme ang weather changes dito sa UP. AS IN. So bring your FAN/JACKET and UMBRELLA. Noong nagtest ako umuulan ng sobra akala mo may bagyo. Meron ding times na sobrang init tapos uulan, yung tipong habang nagkaklase may araw pa, pagkatapos biglang uulan!! Hassle grabe!! SNACKS..kung sakaling magutom kayo during the exam. (Note: Don't bring "smelly" and "noisy" foods like Marty's Crackling, mangga with bagoong..etc.. for it may distract other students who are taking the exam)
4.)While waiting outside your testing site, don't review nor join the review "sessions" "conducted" by the other takers. You will just make noise and may lose your focus. Don't ever mind them.Just pray and relax when you are there.
5.)The exam is divided into 4 subtests; Language Proficiency, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics and Science.Tip: In Language Proficiency and Reading Comprehension, you will see first the english part. There is also the Filipino part. I recommend for you to answer first the Filipino part because technically it is more understandable than English part. Just go back to it when you're done. In that way, you will save more time to review your answers. :D
6.)The Mathematics part requires a quick, good look and a reasonable answer. Ito yung 'di niyo aakalaing madali. Some requires you to think critically and logically.
7.) Right minus wrong ang test. For example, it is a 200 point exam, you got 150 correctly, 40 wrong and 10 no answer then; 150-(40 x .25)=140 points. That will be your score. No answers will be considered neither right nor wrong thus it requires no point. So decide... will you answer all and try your luck or just leave it unanswered 'cause you are not so sure? For me, the latter. :D
8.)After the test, feel free to relax yourself. Eat lunch with your supportive family na hinintay kayo ng five hours sa labas ng inyong testing site. Or watch a good movie! Anything that will make you feel good. Kasi for sure, malamang matulala kayo after ng test!Hahaha!Pero don't worry, may iba pa namang universities diyan. Just keep trying!! Or who knows?
Hmmm..may nakalimutan pa ba ako? The results will be out maybe starting early January to February. So ilang may ilang months pa kayo para mag-try sa ibang universities!(I also tried ACET, though) If ever nakapasa kayo, prepare yourself to a heart-breaking to soul-breaking tests here in UP!Hahahah!! BE PROUD TO BE AN UPCAT PASSER kasi sabi nila "iyan na ang pinakamadaling exam dito sa UP"!hahahah!! Mostly true! :D Good Luck!! :D

Isko at Iska!!
This blog is made by a freshie in UPD. But it does not mean that the posts are for UP students only. I am studying in the university and of course, being a college student. Malalaman niyo rin ang iba sa mga "mythologies" about the university, whether it's true or not!! Aside from that, I will share some tips, lingos, and maybe samplex (short for "sample exams" hahah!! ). What's unique about this blog is that you'll read a first-hand experience of a normal freshie. So what are we waiting for? Let the story begin!!
